Government Camp, OR – On April 29, 2012, Skibowl will open its slopes for free to close the late winter season. Customer Appreciation Day is an annual event to extend appreciation to the clients & community of Mt. Hood Skibowl. This event will officially close out the ski season.

“The winter transition to summer is bitter-sweet. The clients and weather played hard this season. There was so much excitement: the introduction to cosmic tubing, the great turnout for the annual charity events sponsored by Skibowl, the amazing snow fall. It was definitely an epic season. I’m thrilled to blast into the summer season. We have some exciting activities planned,”

said Kirk Hanna, Mt. Hood Skibowl owner and operator.

For twenty-four years, Skibowl has partnered with the Portland Police Sunshine Division to raise awareness and food contributions for those less fortunate. The Sunshine Division will provide barrels to collect donations. Skibowl requests a donation of four cans of food, though lift tickets are free for all, and the Snow Tube & Adventure Park will be half-off during the day on Sunday.

The Skibowl staff is excited for the summer line-up of activities as the transition from winter to summer progresses at Oregon’s most exciting summer destination, the Mt. Hood Adventure Park with over twenty attractions. The Alpine Slide and other summer attractions will be in operation. Additionally, the luxurious and spacious Collins Lake Resort will continue to provide great lodging throughout the season.

SKI FREE on Mt. HOOD

Military, Fire, Police, and Medical field employees and their families receive free and discounted skiing plus exclusive savings on lodging.

Skibowl Honors Our Heroes with FREE Skiing

(Government Camp, OR, April 17, 2012) From now through April 29, 2012, Mt. Hood Skibowl will honor its heroes by offering free skiing, snowboarding, snowtubing and cosmic tubing. Mt. Hood Skibowl invites all military, fire, police and medical field employees to enjoy one of Mt. Hood’s best spring skiing seasons in history. All heroes in uniform with valid ID will receive free skiing and snowtubing, plus their families will also receive 50% off any lift ticket purchases.

Skibowl is also offering an additional discount on lodging at nearby Collins Lake Resort through the end of April with a minimum stay of two nights. Rates are $45 per person, per night based on four person occupancy.

“I would like to send a special thank you to all our heroes in uniform who work diligently to make our community what it is today. Being able to offer these families a well-deserved opportunity to enjoy themselves with winter activities on Mt. Hood is the least I can do to show my appreciation for their daily commitment to serving us,” said Kirk Hanna, owner and operator of Mt. Hood Skibowl.

Skibowl has received a total annual snowfall of 344 inches this winter, most of which has come late in the season leaving a snow depth of over 80 inches in mid-April. Spring conditions have been excellent with 100% of the terrain open and the terrain parks fully built out, plus the added benefit of clear skies and plenty of sunshine. The resort remains open Friday through Sundays until April 29th, but will continue to run the popular West Rope Tow on the weekends through May 13th.

The discounts are also valid at Skibowl’s Snow Tube & Adventure Park with three tube hills, Frosty’s Playland, kid’s snowmobiles and a 2,400 square foot indoor play zone. Access to the top of the tube hill is now easier than ever with this year’s new magic carpet conveyor lift.

Now open at night, the Snow Tube & Adventure Park features cosmic tubing with lights, lasers, music and entertainment from 7-10pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

Mt. Hood Skibowl has a long history of supporting our heroes in uniform and continues to offer discounts daily throughout our winter ski season and in the summertime at the Mt. Hood Adventure Park.

For the lodging discounts contact Collins Lake Resort directly at 800-234-6288. Online at www.Collins LakeResort.com.
