Volleyball

Dig, set, and spike! Our sand Volleyball court is ready for you and friends to get a game going. The net is up all summer long so come play on a first come, first serve basis.

Schedule a match-up with other players or just meet up at the park! Bring your own volleyball, or use ours. It’s fun for everyone with this classic game.

"The sport of Volleyball originated in the United States. In 1895, William G. Morgan decided to blend elements of basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball to create a game for his classes of businessmen who wanted less physical contact then basketball. Thus the game of Volleyball (at that time called "mintonette") was born. The net originally used was a tennis net and it was raised to 6 feet 6 inches above the floor. During a demonstration game, someone remarked to Morgan that the players seemed to be volleying the ball back and forth over the net, hence the name Volleyball.”

Here at the park, we offer the leisurely game of volleyball for anyone and everyone to join in on the fun. We hope to see you out there!

Badminton

Gear up for some classic Badminton! Badminton is a sport which involves hitting a shuttlecock made from cork and feathers back and forth across a net with a badminton racquet. The object is to hit the shuttlecock over the net into the opponent’s court so that he cannot return it before it hits the ground. Once considered a slow, low-intensity activity, badminton is now recognized as a quick-moving, explosive, interval sport - much like competitive volleyball or squash.

Bring your own gear or use ours. Play at your leisure or get a competitive match going. Enjoy our sand court at the base area of Skibowl East!
