Northwest Cup #3 Downhill Mountain Bike Race

Northwest Cup #3 Downhill Mountain Bike Race

Enjoy a weekend of thrills as the Northwest Cup tour shifts gears for round three at the Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl June 20-22, 2014.  Start tightening everything on your bike in preparation for the next round of the 2014 NW Cup at the legendary Skibowl venue.  It's time to get a taste of some old school, rocky, FAST downhill with your host Petr Kakes.  You'll only get one shot to steal points from your classmates at Skibowl this year, so make it count!

The NW Cup is the premier DH series in the Pacific Northwest, now in it's seventh year.

Here is this weekends schedule:

Friday June 22nd: Registration is from 1pm to 5pm.  Training/Race is 2pm to 6pm - all categories.

Saturday, June 21st: Registration from 9am to 5pm. Training/Race: 10am to 2pm for CAT II & Cat III, 2pm to 6pm for PRO & Cat I

Sunday, June 23rd: Registration from 8:30am to 9:30am.  Training 9am to 10am - one run only. 10:20am - Racer meeting at the finish. 11am - Start!

Spectators are welcome and encouraged to watch as PRO/CAT I contestants race from the peak of Skibowl at 5,100 feet, down the Cannonball run, reaching speeds up to 50 mph, then through the technical Woods trail, finishing at the Skibowl West base area.  If you have never seen a downhill mountain bike race, this is an awsome opportunity to see some brave people race down a mountain on two wheels!  Non racers can enjoy the over 20 attractions at the Adventure Park during their weekend stay.

The Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl was one of the first areas in the nation to provide lift assisted mountain biking.  That tradition continues today, 26 years later, with miles of trails accessed by two chairlifts.  Bike and helmet rentals are available on site as well, provided by Hurricane Racing.
