Memorial Day weekend at the Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl West

 (May 20, 2019, Government Camp-OR) The Mt Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl opens the season Memorial Day weekend, providing a complimentary Two Ride Slide ticket for all active and non-active military members and 25% off any Slide Ride ticket for family members.

“We are pleased to offer this special discount for all people who serve or have served our nation,” said Mike Quinn, Vice President & General Manager of the Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl.   

Just an hour east of Portland in the Mt. Hood National Forest, the popular Alpine Slide anchors the west side of the Mt. Hood Adventure Park. The west side of the park also features the Scenic Sky Chair and Interpretative Nature Trails which will open May 25th.  June 1, 2, 8, and 9th the mountain bike park and disc golf will also be open.

The expanded mountain bike park, at Skibowl west, was developed in 1989 and will be hosting the NW Cup 3, a downhill mountain bike race, May 24th – 26th.  Spectators are welcome and encouraged to watch as PRO/CAT I contestants race from the peak of Skibowl at 5,100 feet, down the Cannonball run, reaching speeds up to 50 mph, then through the technical Woods Trail, finishing at the Skibowl West base area.  If you have never seen a downhill mountain bike race, this is an awesome opportunity to see some brave people race down a mountain on two wheels. 

On June 15th, the Adventure Park, with over 20 attractions will begin operating and be open seven days a week thru Labor Day, then weekends in September.

On the east side, you’ll find a Free-Fall Bungee Tower, 800’ Zip Line, 5-Bridge Tree Top Tour, a 32’ Rock Wall, the 4,300 square foot Amaze’N Maze, Indy & Sprint Karts, Kiddy Jeeps, pony and horse rides, mini golf and much more.

Guests enjoy free parking at either the west or east side locations.   On weekends they can hop on a free shuttle between the parks or walk an easy mile-long forest trail connecting the west and east side.


Hours of Operation

The Adventure Park is open for weekends, May 25 - 27, and June 1, 2 and 8, 9th from 11am to 6pm.  Starting Saturday, June 15, the Adventure Park will be in daily operation for the summer.   Hours of operation are11 am to 6 pm, Monday thru Thursday, 11 am to 7 pm Friday, 10 am to 7pm on Saturday and 10 am to 6pm on Sunday.

The Adventure Park specializes in hosting summer corporate events with groups from 15 to 5,000.  Several summer weddings are also held each season, adjacent to the Historic Warming Hut.
