The park characters including Frosty, Reindeer and Bunny will be onsite for pictures and some dancing. This year there will be two fireworks shows at Skibowl; one at Skibowl East for those enjoying the night Cosmic Tubing, and the traditional show at Skibowl West.
Skibowl West will be entertaining all day long with MC Snow Go! in the base area having comps and giving out swag and prizes. Around 11:45, the lights on the hill will be turned off and the countdown festivities will begin starting with the torchlight parade led by the Powder Hounds doing a snow bike demo, then followed by skiers and riders carrying the torches down the slopes featuring members of the Mt. Hood Race Team. Lastly, the New Year will be kicked off with world record Olympic speed skier Petr Kakes launching down the hill into the base area starting the fireworks extravaganza!
Join us for the after party at Skibowl West with The Glow in the Dark Dance Party. With the lights off and the glow in dark necklaces and bracelets, dance to a live DJ and MC for even more prizes and swag. Welcome 2013 in with you best dance moves and great times!
Other festivities will include a champagne toast at the Historic Mid-Mountain Warming Hut and two live bands playing at the resort’s Ratskeller Alpine Bar & Pizzeria. For lodging, tickets or more details about the night’s festivities contact guest services at 503-272-3206, ext. 1107.
