Ski & Ride for a Cure

Ski & Ride for a Cure

Saturday March 7th, 9:00am - Monday March 9th, 9:00am

Make Your Mountain Time Meaningful!

Ski and Ride for the Cure is back at Mt Hood Skibowl on March 7-8, 2020 for our annual fundraising challenge to support St Jude Children's Research Hospital and Children's Cancer Association located in Portland, OR.

The mission of St Jude Children's Research Hospital is advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic disease through research and treatment.

At the Children’s Cancer Association, they believe all kids deserve long, wonderful lives. Or at the very least, short, wonderful lives. Their programs leverage music, nature, friendship, and resources to create transformative moments of joy for families facing cancer and other serious illnesses.

Participants of all ages and skills engage in friendly competition for awards and prizes in two categories:

Top Fundraisers & Vertical Feet

The vertical challenge returns this season! Participants are challenged to log vertical feet for 24 hours. That’s right, we go all night long! Not only do you have a chance to make a difference while participating, you also can experience riding after the mountain closes and the sun sets and rises on beautiful Mt Hood.

There will be sweet prizes for top individual and team fundraisers and awards for vertical challenge winners. Our prizes make people happy! Prizes may include: Skibowl season pass for 2020/21, Go Pro’s, and swag from our sponsors.

This year's event will also include a bunch of fun activities throughout the day, including a 5-card draw run, on-mountain scavenger hunt, costume contest, raffle, music, food, Kegs for a Cure, ski and snowboard demos, and more!

The highlight of the event will be Saturday’s evening Torchlight Parade where skiers and boarders travel down the mountain carrying torches that illuminate the night. At the bottom of the run, torches are placed around the glowing word “HOPE” as we reflect of those we have lost and those who are currently fighting dreadful diseases.

Each participant is challenged to raise $250 during the season and will be provided tools to create a custom fundraising web page designed to help set goals, acknowledge supporters and share their journey with donors and friends online.

Join your fellow skiers & boarders and enjoy a day on the mountain with friends and family.
