Snowmaking equipment assures tubers holiday weekend fun!

While winter enthusiasts anxiously await winter’s arrival and the news of the opening day at Mt. Hood’s various ski resorts, snow tubers can look forward to the Snow Tube Park at Skibowl opening as early as Thanksgiving weekend. Mt. Hood Skibowl has invested in an all-weather snowmaking system that allows them to make snow at significantly warmer temperatures than traditional snowmaking equipment. Skibowl’s Snow Tube and Adventure Park feature Mt. Hood’s only conveyor assisted tubing hills. The park features other activities for kids: including an indoor play zone, kiddie snowmobiles, tube carousel, and Frosty’s Playland, where even the smallest snow lovers can play safely on the snow. On weekends, including Sunday, and holiday nights, snow tubers can enjoy the energy of LED, laser and black lights along with popular party music during Cosmic Tubing sessions. “This is a state-of-the-art system that will allow us to meet key dates and holiday periods when Mother Nature isn’t always cooperating in the early part of the season” according to Mike Quinn, Vice President and General Manager at Skibowl. “We are so excited to get this winter season started and intend to start making snow as soon as the temps begin to cool off.”   The Snow Tube and Adventure Park will be open Friday-Sunday and open daily during the winter break in December. For operating hours and tickets, visit Skibowl.com or call 503 222-BOWL.
